Texas Horizons Law Group is excited to announce that Shauna “Sean” Young Gaskey, J.D., has joined the firm as a full-spectrum attorney, bringing her passion and impressive credentials to serve clients in South Central Texas.

After receiving a B.A. from the University of Texas at San Antonio, Gaskey entered the Syracuse University College of Law, where she thoughtfully aligned her legal studies with her personal values and lived experiences.

The daughter of a 20-year U.S. Army veteran, Gaskey holds a deep sense of duty to serve those who serve. As a student attorney, she dedicated over 100 hours of pro bono service to veterans with the Betty and Michael D. Wohl Veterans Legal Clinic.

Gaskey welcomes any opportunity to connect with the community that shaped her and the culture that has guided the development of her beliefs, passion, and work ethic. During law school, she took on numerous leadership roles, serving as vice president and then president of the Korean Law Students Association and actively engaging with the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association. This allowed her to create a space for camaraderie and support within the rigorous academic environment at Syracuse Law.

During law school, Gaskey also contributed as a member of the research and drafting team on the Syrian Accountability Project, co-authoring the white paper “The 2022 Winter Olympics and Genocide: A History of Enabling Atrocities and the Path Forward”. The paper examined international complicity in ongoing human rights violations. Gaskey considers this collaborative effort between the University of Michigan Law School and Syracuse University College of Law to be one of her most “intellectually fulfilling experiences”.

Gaskey’s advocacy skills were first honed on the policy debate team at UTSA, where she earned recognition as a Skip and Judy Eno Debate Scholar. She believes that debate taught her the power of language and the responsibility that comes with engaging in advocacy work. This foundational experience informs her precision, rhetorical clarity, and advocacy today.

Beyond her legal accomplishments, Gaskey enjoys bodybuilding, classical piano, attending concerts, and experimenting in the kitchen. She stays grounded through close connections with family and friends, and one of her proudest roles is that of being a godmother. She cherishes this title, as it serves as a daily reminder of the importance of love, legacy, and living with intention.

Gaskey’s arrival supports the mission of Texas Horizons Law Group to serve clients across a broad range of practice areas, including business, real estate, estate planning and probate, banking and lending, and oil and gas matters. Coworkers have warmly welcomed Gaskey, recognizing that her leadership, service-minded approach, and rich professional journey make her a powerful asset for the firm’s clients and community.

Shauna Young Gaskey joins our talented team of lawyers, answering the call when clients need focused legal support, and she is poised to play an integral part in our firm’s ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional service and legal guidance to our clients.
