Christopher H. Moore

While my ancestors first came to Texas shortly after the Civil War, I was born on the windswept plains of Kansas while my father was at Fort Leavenworth (at the army post, not a guest of the prison). Actually, Fort Leavenworth is on the banks of the Missouri River and not on the windswept plains, but I liked the sound of that. Afterward, I spent carefree days as a child in Charlottesville, Virginia; Fort Sam Houston, Texas; Fort Kobbe, Panama Canal Zone; Springfield, Virginia; San Antonio, Texas; Fort Leavenworth, Kansas (again); Virginia Beach, Virginia; Killeen, Texas; Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; finally arriving in Seguin, Texas in 1974. During my childhood years, I found a hand grenade but managed not to blow myself up, came face to face with an anaconda but managed not to get eaten, and broke my left arm. I was the fastest kid in my second grade class.

After graduating from Seguin High School in 1975, I attended the University of Texas at Austin. At UT, I spent most of my waking hours engaging in stupid and inappropriate behavior with a little studying in my spare time. Despite my best efforts, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1979. While in Austin, I was an extra in the blockbuster movie “Outlaw Blues” starring Peter Fonda and Susan Saint James.

After deciding not to pursue a career in Hollywood, I was off to Bates College of Law at the University of Houston. I graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in December of 1981. I passed the bar (to my surprise, on my first attempt) and was licensed as a real live lawyer in May of 1982.

I enjoy hiking, fishing, traveling, and making fun of other people (and myself). I don’t like raw tomatoes, but I like tomato sauce, fried tomatoes, stewed tomatoes, etc. Life is funny like that.

Almost forgot, here is information about my law practice. I have worked on many thousands of loan, real estate, and business matters over the years. I represent community banks in loan transactions, general banking, and corporate matters. I also handle commercial real estate and business transactions. I have worked on transactions involving a few thousand to hundreds of millions of dollars. My practice includes:

  • Licensed as a real live lawyer in May of 1982

I am one of only 360 lawyers in Texas (out of over 110,000) that are Board Certified in Commercial Real Estate Law and one of only 208 lawyers in Texas that are Board Certified in Residential Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Only 179 lawyers in Texas are Board Certified in both Commercial Real Estate Law and Residential Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. I wrote and coded the corporation, professional association, limited liability company, general partnership, and limited partnership forms for the original version of the Business Organizations volume for ProDoc™ (now Westlaw Form Builder™) used by thousands of Texas lawyers. I am a member of the Texas Bar College, Southwest Association of Bank Counsel, and Independent Bankers Association of Texas (Affiliate Member).

Thanks for reading and have a super duper day.
